Bansko is the newest and most rapidly developing ski resort in Bulgaria. Over 100 million Euros have been invested to install a state of the art ski facility with Gondolas and chairlifts designed specifically for the Pirin Mountains. There’s 70+Km of well kept piste, including a long 8km home run back into the resort. The ski season starts in the middle of December and runs through to the end of April.

Bansko is the place to be for beginners. Lots of long gentle blue runs, nursery slopes and an easy to use lift system. There are also and many ski schools with qualified English speaking instructors.

For those wishing to develop their technique, you’ll have lots of choice. With challenging red runs weaving between the trees, and an uninterrupted 16Km run from the top of the mountain to the bottom, you’ll not be disappointed. A handful of red runs and the alberto tomba black will keep most experts busy, but Bansko is probably more popular for its extreme and off piste skiing and snowboarding opportunities, and the resort is a regular host to extreme competitons, including the 2009 world cup. The ski and board park area and half pipe facility are very popular with experts looking to hone their skills.


When It comes to Après Ski Bansko has lots of options. There are several bars around the bottom of the main slope, these bars are hugely popular for après ski, with live bands on selected nights and happy hours, it’s the perfect end to the day, and warm up for the night!
Restaurants of all kinds are scattered all over the Town. There are lots of new modern restaurants serving Italian, Indian, and British Cuisine. Those looking to try the more traditional Bulgarian cooking will not be disappointed, there are over 100 mehenas in Bansko. The majority have English menus and English speaking waiters.
